New Sports Court at PV headquarters

On August 19th we had a very special day! Our social headquarters opened a new sports court with the support of the Robert Bosch Institute.

We thank the Lord for the support of so many people who were involved in this great project, which will help the entire neighborhood of CIC. During the opening event, we had the presence of the missionaries of Projeto Vida, Bosch' staff, political figures of our city and the children and teens that are reached by our programs.
For the event we had a dance performance by the students of the PV Social School and also a performance by the Doulos team on the negative effects of drug abuse on people's lives.
The new sports court will be used for several activities, such as soccer, volleyball, basketball, judo and many others.
We still have so much more to do, but we are greatly thankful to the Lord for one more achievement.

Projeto Vida News

ALPHA continues to renovate their bus. In August the team will spend 3 months in the state of Minas Gerais.

LOGOS is in Rio de Janeiro, then going to Sao Paulo. They have had 2 weeks of drug prevention activities and social work in the communities of RJ.

AGAPE worked at Almirante Tamandaré in schools of the community called Vila Marta. Many people benefited from their presence there.

DOULOS opened the drug prevention week organized by the city of Curitiba in an event that involved 3 thousand people. This week the team will travel to the state of Santa Catarina.

At our headquarters, after school activities continue to offer classes to the community, now with over 100 students participating.

Another Mission School

Our teams are ready to go! Going to SP to pick up the group coming from Bell Shoals Baptist and heading down to Antonina and Morretes for a week of mission work! Please, keep us in your prayers!

Convidamos todos aqueles que querem entender e viver missões a participarem da Escola de Missões Projeto Vida. Nosso objetivo é capacitar e treinar pessoas para o campo missionário através da estrutura do nosso ministério dando o suporte necessário para os alunos que nesse tempo desenvolverão várias atividades de evangelização.

O Projeto Vida é uma missão itinerante que tem como objetivo pregar a Palavra de Deus e ganhar vidas para Cristo em todos os lugares, integrando-as à comunhão da igreja local.

As equipes desenvolvem diversas atividades tais como:

· Prevenção às drogas em colégios da rede pública e particular de ensino;

· Ação Social com corte de cabelo, atendimento a saúde, orientação familiar e distribuição de algodão doce;

· Apresentação de filmes, teatro, coreografia e pantomima.

Aproveitamos todas as oportunidades para levar uma palavra de esperança nos mais diferentes lugares: bairros, praças e presídios em vários estados do Brasil.

Centenas de pessoas já trabalharam como voluntários nesse ministério doando seu tempo e talento na obra missionária, viajando com as equipes, tendo suas vidas profundamente marcadas por missões.

A look back at 2010

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We praise the Lord for another year reaching the unreached and for the results achieved. So many lives have been transformed and our teams have been built up by the action of the Holy Spirit. We would like to briefly share some of the results that have filled our hearts with joy:

* Our traveling teams have reached 86,114 students during school rallies;

* 2,256 adults have accepted the invitation offered during the evangelistic impact events at public squares and streets and several baptisms took place;

* We purchased one more bus and started our 4th team - Doulos has started working in and around Curitiba.

* We hosted two Mission Training events with the participation of volunteers from all over Brazil;

* We celebrated the first anniversary of the group Amor Exigente (Demanding Love) which supports families;

* Our social projects held at the headquarters have greatly increased, reaching approximately 260 children and adults;

* Our participation at Natal Iluminado (Enlighten Christmas) - Barigui. Approximately 1,500 people attended.

* Our End of the Year Party with the participation of the children and teenagers reached by our headquarters and their families;

We thank everyone who has supported our ministry directly or indirectly, wishing all a very blessed new year!

November Activities

This month we are visiting more than 15 neighborhoods and cities. The teams are going full speed! One of our teams is working in Rio de Janeiro. There, violence and drug trafficking is very heavy! Another team will be in Rio Grande do Sul, where people are very closed in regards to faith in Jesus. Rio Grande do Sul is the number 1 state in Spiritism and where most of the witchcraft centers are. We will be sharing Jesus with them too!

We need more homes for those wishing to work with PV, so that they can relocate to Curitiba. In fact, our deepest wish is for a bigger place where we could have both lodging and parking, since the one we have is already too small for us. (more requests to come)

Logo's Report

During the month of July, Logos worked with a group called Jaspe, a theater and dance group from the city of Campos dos Goitacazes RJ, around the cities of Passo Fundo, Concórdia, Seara, Dionísio Cerqueira, Chapecó and Blumenau. Except for Passo Fundo (where we had school assemblies) and Concordia, all other events were of social work and impact.

During the social work in Passo Fundo, a 17-year-old girl had her hair cut by us. There she told us she has never been to a hairdresser. She was led to counseling where she heard the message of Love of the gospel.

Alpha July Experience

The Alpha team worked for two weeks in Joinville, SC, during the month of July, together with a group of volunteers from TRANS 2010 (National Missions), young people who dedicated their vacation time to missionary work. This month was very rainy, which made our activities difficult. People there also are not as open to the Gospel, but we know they thirst for the Word of God. The Lord moved powerfully during those days, reaching several people and exalting the name of God.

"Yet when I preach the gospel, I cannot boast, for I am compelled to preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!"

Doulos' First Impact Event

We were so happy with the First Impact event performed by the Doulos team. It was the event we mentioned in the post below. The event hosted by the City of Curitiba had approximatedly 200 Americans working with us.

It was a dream come true to have our FOURTH bus be part of this event. This could only be possible with the help of each sponsor that has been helping us pay for our Doulos bus.

Solidarity Day

On July 12th, Projeto Vida participated in the event called Solidarity Day in Curitiba. This event was promoted by the Fundação de Ação Social de Curitiba [Social Action Foundation of Curitiba] in partnership with the Global Awakening Ministry, an international ministry found in 1994 and led by pastor Randy Clark, based in Harrisburg, in the USA.

A message from Jackson

Hi, guys. This is Jackson, Projeto Vida’s missionary. Thanks to God, my transplant went well. It was all new to me since I had never had a surgery before… ever.

But since the beginning I could see God moving: in all the exams I took, everything was working fine, things were falling into place, and then the surgery was scheduled. I was very anxious and worried about how it would be, but God calmed my heart down. I had the transplant done and everything went alright. I can see much better now, not 100% because my problem was advanced, I was almost blind. But I feel God has healed me.

I only had the surgery in my right eye. Now I have to recover well, with lots of rest and using eye drops always. I have been living by faith and in the care of God. Now I will have a transplant in my left eye, so I would appreciate your continued prayer. I thank you in advance for all of them.

I know that when I enter the O.R. you, my brothers and sisters, will be praying for me, and that is what is keeping me strong. I will never give up and every day of my life I’ll always have faith that I was healed in the name of Jesus.

Driving down the street

During our program performed by the Logos team along the side of the busy highway las month, a family drove by and saw the Projeto Vida bus. Attracted by it and curious to what was happening, the family parked the car and watched our presentation. At the end, they accepted the invitation to invite Jesus into their hearts. What a ride!!!

Doulos' First Trip!

Peace, friends.

A mission journey is always "crazy", because we never know what is ahead of us. But, by faith, we believe that everything that happens is part of God's plan.

This was the first trip made with Projeto Vida's new bus, which we named DOULOS. We took 45 missionaries on this trip, leaving Curitiba on Wednesday, June 2, at 11pm. It was a very long trip because it was the first and thus we don't really know the bus. Some unexpected things happened, (one of them was the shift stick being bad), but we finally arrived to Foz do Iguacu at 10am on Thursday.

We went there to participate in a missionary conference. This conference happens every two years, and is very good to help personal and ministerial growth. These were days of learning and blessings in the lives of our missionaries. We were hosted by the First Baptist Church of Foz and were very welcomed by our brothers and sisters in Christ.

As always, God surprised us with His miracles. It was no different in Foz. One day we were going to the activities and the bus broke down. When we got there, Pr. Miguel was parking the bus and a part that connects to the steering wheel broke. If this part had broken while we were driving the bus we could have had a very serious accident. But because God always protects us we understood this to be His hand freeing us from that danger.

The hardest issue was that this happened on Saturday night and all automotive part stores were closed and would be closed all Sunday too. We were blessed by our brothers at the church who took us by car to the church we were staying at. It took them many trips to get us all there, since we were so many. One of our brothers took us to a place that carried the part that broke and there we managed to get a new one. We bought it and Pr. Marcos replaced it and fixed the bus.

We went back to Curitiba by the grace of God, and with many blessings over us.

We truly thank you for all your prayers - they have been keeping us from many accidents.

We ask you to keep praying since this month (June) our teams will be working at schools, parks and streets in several places around Brazil.

Bell Shoals Visit to Brazil 2010

This picture is of one of the skits that our friends from Bell Shoals Baptist Church performed during this week of combined efforts with our teams. We were out in Curitiba and close by cities with our 3 teams. Alpha, led by Pr. Marcos, took the team led by Pr. Victor Flores. Logos, led by Pr. Eduardo, traveled with Rich Lazzara's team. And Agape, led by Pr. Rodrigo, took Paul Bolan's team.

We had a wonderful week with presentations at public schools, impact and social work at 3 parks, a visit to an indian village, an English school and a day of service at our headquarters.

The Lord was very kind to us and allowed us to see His work in so many occasions!
